    The Beginning
    Thomas Kuhn was born on July 18th, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kuhn received his Bachelor’s and Master’s in from Harvard University for Physics. Kuhn later received his PH.D in history of science. Thomas Kuhn taught History or Philosophy of science at Harvard, Berkeley, Princeton and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

    Paradigm change
    The paradigm change which was developed by Kuhn is a concept of a mature science that experiences alternating phases. The phases consisting of normal science, model drift, model crisis, model revolution and lastly the paradigm change. During this time Kuhn suffered lots of criticism for his work. It was being argued that Kuhn’s development of science was not entirely accurate.

    Great mind
    Thomas Kuhn wrote the book The Copernican Revolution where he spoke about the development of the heliocentric theory of the solar system during the Renaissance. Kuhn also wrote “The Structure of Scientific Revolutions” arguing that scientific research and thought are defined by paradigms. His book revolutionized the history and philosophy of science along with the paradigm shifts extended to political science, economics, sociology, and business management.

    In history Kuhn was one of the most influential philosophers of his time. Other philosophers used Kuhn’s diagram as a stepping stone or a tool to help with their research. Kuhn died on June 17th, 1996 in Cambridge Massachusetts.
