    Thomas Kuhn was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kuhn obtained his Bachelors in 1943, and Masters in 1946, both in physics from Harvard University. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1949 in the History of Science, also from Harvard University.

    Thomas Kuhn defined the process of a Paradigm shift as the following four phases.
    1. "Normal Science" - the current paradigm is being used to solve problems and explain anomalies.
    2. "Model Crisis" - anomalies add up and are unable to be explained. Scientists engage in debates to solve the problem.
    3. "Model Revolution" - Scientists develop new ways of thinking and new solutions to explain the anomalies
    4. "Paradigm Shift" - The new is accepted and becomes "Normal Science"
