  • France Resigns

    France signs an armistice agreement with Germany to stop hostility between each other. France was obligated to sign the armistice in the same place where Germany signed the WWI armistice.
  • The Invasion of Greece

    Italy invades Greece from Albania on October 28, 1940. But the Greeks fight back and resists the attacks.
  • The Axis Powers Grow

    Bulgaria joins the Axis. There was a naval battle between Britain and Italy in the coast of Greece on March 27, 1941 and Britain won.

  • Oil Shortage

    USA cracked Japan´s messages and deciphered message about their plans for future conquering. The US freezes Japan´s assets causing oil shortages.
  • Pearl Harbor

    USA and Japan fight for the Island called Misway. If the US won the island it would help them refuel their planes. The US had the upper hand because they could intercept Japans messages.

    The US used a “island-hopping strategy” to take over Japan´s islands. This plan was created by Gral. McArthur, if the US took Guadalcanal they could stop Japanese shipments and help Autralia.   • D-Day (Operation Overload)

    This was the start to the end of WWII. This was a plan to involve USA in European part of the war. Took place in Normandy, USA and Britain did not stop sending troops to fight eventually winning the German territory.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Hitlers last attempt to attack allied forces- The plan was to incircle allies and attack them. The Germans lost the battle.
  • Yalta Conference

    Conference between US, UK, and Soviet Union and its goal was to discuss how the world would look like after the war.     It was a part of the island hopping plan. 60,000 US troops went in the island of Okinawa to attack it, the battle lasted 82 days.

    US drops an atomic bomb in Hiroshima. The order was made by Truman and was intended to save the lives of the americans although it killed about 130,000 Japanese people.   • Bombing of Nagasaki

    Truman gave the order of dropping the bomb and saw this as an opportunity to end the war. It killed between 60,000 and 70,000 people.
