The first telephone invented

A man called "Alexander Grahen Bell" invented the first telephone. He was also the first one to try to call someone.It was the first successful telephone transmission of clear speech using a liquid transmitter when Alexander talked in his telephone “Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you.” and Watson heard each word distinctly.

Bell Telephone Company

The Bell Telephone Company was formed by Gardiner Hubbard. By the end of 1877 there were three thousand telephones in service.

Manual Switching Board

In 1878 a manual switching board was introduced that allowed many phones to be connected through a single exchange. The first switchboard was located in New Haven Connecticut. Mos interesting was the first people that wanted this job were teenaged boys.

First Desk Telephone

This desk telephone was the first one to have a hand set. It was very popular in Europe.

The first 11 Digit Telephone

Almon Strowger also developed the first telephone that switch out of electromagnets and hat pins.

The French Phone

Vail's Chief Engineer, J.J. Carty, invented the "French" phone design in 1907 apparently in the name of cost cutting

'300 desk type set

Earlier versions had housings made of metal but plastic was substituted in the early '40s. This phone was made during the World War II while most engeineers were at work.

Wall Telephone

The wall telephone was invented by L M Ericsson. It is most often used in the kitchen counter and table. It is also popular in areas as basements or garages.

First Speaker Phone

In 1958 the first phone with a speaker was invented. This was convienient because when people are busy and can't hold the phone they can just listen hand free.
