On Novenber 30th of 1667, Jonathan Swift is born to Abigail Erick. His father passed away months before he was born. He was born in Dublin, Ireland, but his mother soon retuened to England after his birth.

Swift graduates from Trinity College and starts to study for his Master's degree.

The Glorious Revolution begins when William of Orange invades England. Swift was studying for his Master's degree in Ireland, but is forced to leave to go to England. There is mother helps him get a job.

Jonathan Swift's mother helps him get a job when he moves to England. His mother lands him a job as a secretary and personal assistant of Sir William Temple. The postition is in Moor Park in Surrey. Here, Swift starts to make his way through all the books in Temple's library.

Esther Johnson is an important person in Swift's life and they meet in 1689 when he's living in Moor Park. She is eight years old at the time and he later become her tutor/mentor. They stay in touch throughout their lives.

Swiftt starts to develop a disturbance of the inner ear. He later find out that he has Meniere's Disease. His doctors tell him to return to Ireland and he does in 1690.

Jonathan returns from Ireland and goes back to work with Temple. While in England, Temple shows Swift around Oxford and get him to study there in 1691. Swift recieves a Master's degree from Oxford in 1692. He also publishes his first poem, "Ode to the Athenian Society" in 1691.

In 1694, Swift leave England to go back to Ireland and take the holy orders. He becomes priest of Church Of Ireland in 1695. Also, the Irish church becomes the Anglican Church this year also.

Swift starts to write A Tale of a Tub. It was his first major story.

Swift's boss and friend, Temple, dies in 1699. He finds work elsewhere cas haplain and secretary to Earl of Berkeley in Ireland.

The Doctor of Divinity degree from Trinty College was recieved by Swift in 1702. Later in the year, he travel to England and brought back Esther Johnson to Ireland. Esther is now 20 years old and many people believed Swift married her.

Swift's 'A Tale of a Tub' and 'The Battle of the Books' are published in 1704 and many people were now interested in his writing. 'The Mechanical Operation of the Spirit' was also published this year.

'Gullivers Travels' is completed and the publication of 'The Drapier Letters', which gained Swift popularity in Ireland 1745.

Collected edition of Swift's Works is published in 1735. Swift is suffering from dizziness, nausea, and his memory loss. In other words, he is suffering from Meniere's Disease.

As Swift gets older and older, he suffers from a paralytic stroke. He also becomes senile.

Jonathan Swift dies on the 19th of October in 1745. Swift wrote his epitaph:
