    Invasion of Poland
    Germany attacked Poland with the Soviets joining in sixteen days later. By September 29th, Poland no longer exist. World War II was declared and the Nazi-Soviet Pact put in order. A period of phoney war began, creating tension between the nations. This lasted until April of 1940.
  • Battle of the Atlantic

    Battle of the Atlantic
    Through out the war, the battle for supplies raged on. The Allies build and sent supply ships and The German U-boats sinks them. It was looking grim for the Allies until Fall of 1943 with the developement of radars and better startegies. With out this success, the troops in Europe would not have been able to hold out against Hitler without supplies.

    Winter War
    The Red Army of the Soviets attacked Finland and took over the Baltic States. Though the nation put up a good fight, Finland surrendered on March 12th, 1940 with the signing of a "peace treaty." With USSR's success, Italy wanted a conquest as well but was defeated by Greece.
  • Evacuation of Dunkirk

    Evacuation of Dunkirk
    With the German forces conquering land left and right, the British troops where trapped. An evacuation from Britian to the horbour of Dunkrik, France was put in order that lasted till June 4th. Though the success was due to the puzzling restrain of Hitler's air force, it did gave the Allies the much needed moral victory. Also, equipments was abandond during the evacuation.
  • Fall of France

    Fall of France
    France's military technology and strategy was no match for the German troops. The internal devision of the rascist and communists did not add to the already helpless situation. With Italy joining in the war as well on June 10th, France was put into a state of disarray. On June 22nd, France surrendered and her army demobilized.
  • Battle of Britian

    Battle of Britian
    This battle was a battle for the control of the sky and sea. Though an accident at first, it was also the first time civilians were targeted in war. Though Britian's fast development of radars and technology of the like, the nation survived. It was the first time Hitler failed to conquer. The victory prolonged the war but was another great moral boost. After the battle ended on September 30th, London was bombed continueously through out the war.
  • Barbarossa

    Barbarossa
    Hitler abondoned the Nazi-Soviet Pact and attack the USSR. This act was due to the ever strong belief of Lebensraum, the Nazi racial theory, and the hatred towards commnism. Much to the West's surprise, Stalin did not heed their warnings of the Germany attack and suffer great loses. The Soviets had to trade land for time due to their late preparations and used the scorched earth policy. Hitler stopped 50km from Moscow due to the harsh winter.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    Battle of Stalingrad
    This battle was a battle to the death in an urban setting. Germany wanted the oil at the south of USSR and went through the capital to reach it. By Feburary 8th, 1943, the German troops surrendered. Hitler lost some of his best units without gaining the oil they saught after. Germany was forced to start defending.
  • Battle of El Alamein

    Battle of El Alamein
    Battle for the Suez Canal and the control of North Africa's oil supply. By November 3rd, the "Desert Rats," the native fighters, defeated the German/Italian troops. The Canal remained in the Allies hands and Hitler deniied acess to the oil. This battle also prepared the Allies for the liberation of Italy.
  • Italian Campaign

    Italian Campaign
    The Liberation of Italy lasted till May 2nd, 1945. Though it was a long and hard battle, the Allies succeeded in cutting off a great souce of Germany's power. Mussolini was hunged and it marked the start of liberation of all of Europe.

    The Invasion of Normandy was a bitter victory. With great sacrifices, the Allies won a canal to the Soviets. It is the battle that inspired many of the films of World War Two; the battles of the five beaches, Utah, Omaha, Gold, Sword, and Juno.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Battle of the Bulge
    Germany's last offensive battle for Ardennes, a weak spot in the Allies front. Though Germany advanced 60 miles, they were stopped and defeated. Hitler's last stuggle was unsuccessful. With the increase of Ally bombing during this battle, it led Germany to surrender.
