  • 1215

    Magna Carta

    The Magna Carta acknowledged certain specific rights of the barons against the king, including some rights to due process, a speedy trial, and trial by a jury of one's peers.
  • English Bill of Rights

    Accepted by King William and Queen Mary 1689.
  • King George III

    King George the 3rd, this man succeeded his grandfather, he wanted to lower debt, he also made a financial expert, George Grenville, to serve as Prime Minister.
  • Sugar Act

    This did three things, halved duty on foreign, made molasses, and placed duties on certain imports that had not been taxed before.
  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp act of 1765 had imposed tax on all american colonists and had to pay them this was applied to printed items such as wills, newspapers, and playing cards, a stamp would be placed on the items to prove tax was paid.
  • Samuel Adams

    Was one of the founders of the Sons of Liberty, acts also imposed tax on tea and all the other popular drinks in the Colonies

  • Boston Massacre

    A mob gathered in front of the Boston Custom House and taunted, shots were fired, people were severally injured, colonists were killed, including Crispus Attucks
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Rebels disguised themselves as Native Americans and proceeded to take action against three ships anchored in the harbor, the “ Indians “ dumped more than 18,000 pounds of East India Company’s tea ships anchored into the waters of Boston harbor.
  • Intolerable Act

    This was the law that declared that soldiers take shelter in private homes and the owners had to provide food and water.
