Ethan Allen and the green mountain boys won the first patriot victory of the war by capturing fort ticonderoga. The fort also provided cannons that would become extremly usefull later in the war.

To protect the countryside from more attacks, patriot troops were station on Bunker, Breeds, and the dorchester hills. The british upon seeing this attacked. Even though the battle was a loss for the americans the british causualties were much higher.

In "Common Sense" Pain writes why the colonies should break off from england. He wrote in simple language so everyone could understand his points. His pamphlet created a lot of support for the revolution.

The Patriots used the cannons from fort ticonderoga and aimed them at the British, preparing for battle. The British had hoped to attack by sea, but the weeather wasn't good. Eventually they left by boat out of Boston harbour heading to nova scotia.
