    Elvis was born January 8, 1935 in East Tupleo Mississippi. His parents were Vernon and Gladys Presley. They were poor, but they gave Elvis everything a boy needed. When Elvis was born, it was said that his mother would have twins, but only Elvis survived of the two. Gladys then proceded to hold Elvis's hand until he was in 6th grade.

    The Presleys moved to Memphis to find a new job and to make a fresh start. Elvis would be attending Humes High school. As a student, Elvis was not very popular in high school. The other kids did not like his unusual style or the guitar he carried around his back every day of school. He graduated in 1953.

    Elvis joined Sun Recording Company where he first learned the process of making a record. He walked in one day and the people thought his singing was unlike any other's. They experimented with random songs for hours and they finally began recording. Elvis would later leave this company for RCA Records in order to distribute his music nationaly.

Sadley, Gladys wasn't used to owning a big empty house and she was becoming more and more hesitant about Elvis's new lifestyle.

    Gladdys Presley dies of a heart attack brought on by acute hepatitis. This was a huge thing for Elvis and his father. Elvis was very close to his mom and he couldn't cope with the sadness. He then turned to drugs to lessen the depression.

    While overseas in the army, he met 14 year old Priscilla Beaulieu in Germany. She was a big fan of Elvis and she couldn't believe he was actually there. She was inviting and Elvis said she was the only person he had actually shared his true feelings with for a long time. He was also affraid what the media would say when they knew he was dating a 9th grader. When he returned to the United States, he kept in touch with Priscilla and later invited her to live with him in Graceland.

Pricilla states, "The love that I had for him was truly love for him. I didn't leave him because i hated him; I left because i loved him. I wasn't about to see him go, in front of me. He had to help himself. He didn't choose to do that."

    He died at 42 years old. It was said that he died of a form of heart attack in the bathroom of his suite. In his 42 years of life he has changed the music industry forever and was crowned "King of Rock and Roll"
