    Throughout the Revolutionary War John Adams wasn't at home very often. Abigail and John still talked all the time through letters (around 1,100). In one of these letters she reminded John to not forget about women and how they needed to be included in decisions. She talked about how the future of the country should not be decided by husbands alone.

Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the Husbands. Remember all Men would be tyrants if they could. If particular care and attention is not paid to the Ladies we are determined to foment a Rebellion and will not hold ourselves bound by any Laws in which we have no voice or Representation." Abigail was a early women's rights activist.
