Edmond Dantes was arrested for high treason because Villefort was trying to hide the fact that Monsieur Nortier, the man Edmond was suppose to give the letter to, was his father. -

During this period of time, Edmond Dantes was inprisoned in the Chateau D'If. With the help of Abbe Faria, Edmond learned about the world, it's sciences, politics, religions, and much more. -
Edmond Dantes Escape from the Chateau D'If
Edmond Dantes had now escaped from the wretched prison known as the Chateau D'If. Now that he has been freed, he will use all the knowledge Abbe Faria gave to him during his 14 year incarceration. -
The Duel
Albert de Morcef accused the Count of Monte Cristo for his father's accusation of murdering the King od Yanina, Ali Pasha just so he could earn a high rank in the army and for money. Later Mercedes, now known as the Countess de Morcef, tells Albert the truth about who the Count of Monte Cristo really was. He apologizes to him the day of the duel. -
The First Revenge
Fernand was caught in the act of treason when he killed the leader of Yanina, Ali Pasha. He accused the Count of Monte Cristo for all this and challenged him to a duel. The duel never took place because he saw Mercedes and Albert packed and ready to go. Fernand committed suicide a couple minutes later. -
The Second Revenge
It has now been three years since Edmond escaped and he is now known as the Count of Monte Cristo. He takes his first revenge on Danglars, the man who reported the treason to the authorities. Monte Cristo first begins by making an unlimited account with Danglars and later withdraws 5 million dollars which leaves Danglars bankrupt. Then when Danglars leaves town Monte Cristo has Luigi Vampa kidnap Danglars and take all of his money and starves Danglars nearly to the point of death as a way of pun -
The Third Revenge
After Monsieur de Villefort's trial he goes back home with a guilty conscience eralizing that he was not the only one to commit a crime. Once he gets home he finds his wife dead and thinks his son is sleeping but when he reads a note which said why his wife did what she did he looks back at his son only to find dead. -
Discovering the Killer in Villefort's Home
The Count of Monte Cristo decides to help Maximilien with his true love Valentine by finding out the true killer in her father's household. Monte Cristo hides in the room next door and tells Valentine to pretend she is asleep while the killer, later to be revealed is her stepmother, Renee de Villefort. After Valentine soon finds out, Monte Cristo gives Valentine a drug that stops her heartbeat and puts her to a deep sleep. -
Maximilien's Reunion with Valentine
Monte Cristo reunites Maxmilien with his true love on the day Monte Cristo told he would die. He purposely tricks Maximilien into taking a pill which Maximilien thought would kill him. Instead it put him into a deep sleep and when he woke up he was awoken by what he thought was an apparition of Valentine. He finds a note that Monte Cristo left that said he could keep the mansion he was in right now. He sees Monte Cristo in a boat in the distance with his former slave and now true love, Haydee.
