Churchill said “"From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the Continent." Regarding the ussr being a threat to democracy. This is seen as the start of the cold war

    the doctrine grew from when George Kennan, US ambassador in Moscow made a telegram on the soviets growing power. This needed to be stopped when the us believed if Britain removed troops from Greece they would fall to communism. America went on the idea that citizens should apply to the statement “I believe that it must be the policy of the United States to support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures.”.

    The Marshall Plan was the primary plan of the U.S for rebuilding and creating a stronger foundation for the allied countries of Europe, and repelling communism after World War II. The plan was in operation for four years beginning in July 1947. With the plan in place every European country’s economy raised except Germany well past prewar levels.

Together each country agreed to all aid in any military selfdefense to prevent the growth of communism.
