    He was a political leader, who was born in 1890 and died in 1969. He was a main rule of Communism in Vietnam. He helped contribute to the spread and idea of communism.
  • Yeltsin

    The president of Russia at the end of the Cold War. He and President Bush formally ended the Cold War. It is significant because the Cold War was finally over and they did not have to worry about Communism anymore.
  • United Nations

    United Nations
    The worlds organization for international peace. It keeps everything and every country in check.
  • Iron Curtain

    Iron Curtain
    This was the separation of East and West Soviet Union. It seperated communism and Democracy. It led to countries spliting in half instead of the entire country being one or another.

    An American Cold War policy that supported Greece and Turkey with economic and military support to prevent them from becoming Communist. It is significant because those were stratigic countries that we did not want to fall to communism.

    It was a plan to help the ecomony. It was intended to help the ecomony so the country would grow and strengthen, and not fall to communism.

    This was an American program to aid Europe. We gave them economic support to helpe stop the spread of communism. It was significant because we were trying to stop the spread of Communism, and help rebuild a war devestated region.

    The US supplied food and fuel to the Citizens of West Belin. The Berlin Airlift helped the allies to be stronger so they could resist communism.

    This was an association of the United States and European countries, to defend themselves against the Societ Union. It was historicallt significant because they took action to defend themselves and form an alliance against Soviet Union, so if they attacked one of them, they all would attack back.

    Mao Zedong took over China, and made it Communism, and this was a blow to the Unites States, because we had been funding China to keep it from becoming Communist. It was the largest country in Asia, and it was now Communist. It is historically significant becuase we had been funding it, and it still was converted, but it was not enough.

    President, Chairman and Prime minister of Russia at one time, and was an officer of KGB. He has been said to have helping Russia out of its crisis in the 1990's. It is significant because it is leading Russia out of its Communism and into a powerfull country.

    Was a conference in Switzerland where they tried to solve the Israilei- Palistinian conflict. It was a attempt to settle a conflict to lessen the War.

    The treaty was signed to keep a close eye of the communist parties, and was a way to strengthen the military of the alliances. The importanve is it was a mass grouping of alliances to help end Communism.

    This was a war fought between Noth Vietnam, by its supported communist allies and against South Vietnam and anti- communitst allies. It is significant because they were fighting to stay communist free.

    Was a Russian man who gained control of the Communist Party, and wanted to spread communism as much as he could. He caused Communism to spread, which affected the War.

    During the Cold war Russia and the US tryed to beat each other to sending a sattelite into space. It allowed both countries to advance in there space technology, and gave us more information about space.

    When communist North Korea invaded non communist South Korea, and tried to take over. It was what involved other countries to help South Korea defend there territory.

    The Berlin Wall is a wall built to keep Germany seperate, and to keep people inside West Germany. It was an attempt to seperate communism and non communism states.

    When the US discovered the Soviet Unions missles in Cuba, and the dangerous situation between the two countries involving the missles aimed at the US. If the Soviet Union would have launched the missles it would have changed the war.

    Was a major diplomatic agreement that was signed at Helsinki, Finland. It was a effort to ease tensions between the Soviet Union and the Western blocs. It was an attempt to ease the tensions and reduce war.

    The state security police of the USSR, it allowed security for the country and protection. It was a police enforment to insure the government was safe that would lead to future protection policies.

    Was born in 1978, and was a Soviet Statesman, and the General secratary of the Communist Party. It affected the Soviet Union because the people that were in charge of the country were communist party members.

    This was established by Lech Walesa in Poland, and was the first non- communist party in the Warsaw pact country. It rapidly grew and became very popular, and the US supported them finiacially. It is important becuase the US was involved helping them, and trying to give them more power.

Glasnost means "Openess" and Perestroika means de-monopilization, and called for free markets. This is historicallt significant because it lessend the grip of communism, and eventually led to a democracy.

    The Berlin Wall was built to keep Germany seperated between commmunist and non communist states, and it was started to be torn down, to allow Germany to be reunited. It allowed Germany to become one country again, and to strengthen themselves as one instead of being split.
