    Igor Gouzenko was born into the Soviet Union in 1919. He wasn't pleased with their ways. They were trying to get secrets about the atomic bomb. He found out that his family will be sent back to russia so he traded the Canadian governtment secrets for prtection. He and his family went into hding and wore a mask in public to hide himself.

    The Soviets wanted all of Berlin so the Soviets put up a Blockade to block all supply lines to the Allied side, west Berlin. Occurred from June 1948 to May 1949. The Soviet Union had broken an agreement with its former allies which had encouraged them to forfit thier rights to obtain western Berlin.

    The North American Air Defence (NORAD) was signed by Canada and the Us with agreement to protect eachother if the enmy missiles attack. Canada allowed the US to put up defence protection in NWT to make Distant Early Warning (DEW) radars were put along DEW lines that allow Canada and the US to know when enmy missles and aircrafts are coming from at most 4800km away.

    Bomarc MissionJohn Diefenbaker allowed 56 American-made Bomarc missiles in Ontario and Quebec acting according to the NORAD clause. In 1960 their was a lot of Canadaian controversy about allowing nuclear weapons on Canadaian soil. Diefenbaker became unsteady and called an ellection that was won by Lester B. Pearson who later allowed the Bromac missile in Canada.

    The GameCanada had trouble playing agaisnt some eastern teams espicially Russia. Canada and Russia set up a game consisting of many NHL players in 1972. This game was held in Russia and Paul Henderson scored at the dying second of the third to break a tied game and give the win to Canada.

    Announcement made by East German government official Günter Schabowski stated, "Permanent relocations can be done through all border checkpoints between the GDR (East Germany) into the FRG (West Germany) or West Berlin." People were in shock. People were entering the Berlin Wall from each side and some of them started chipping at it with hammers and chisels. East and West Germany turned into a single german State.
