    This term was used for the fact that Ameriicans belived that tey need to exspand from one ocean to the other. the us achived manifest destiney at the end of the mexan-american war, but this was short lived when some states seceded and became confederates. Manifest deestiney was living throughout the war, and was still kept strong.

    This was after the texan-mexican war so texas was finaly free and a repubic. There was one problem texas had many debts and this is what made texas want to annex to the U.S. because if they joined all of the debts would be paid. They would also have a greater army because it would add the american army to theirs.

    Abraham Lincoln's election is what caused some states to seced to become confederates because he was a obolinest. Lincoln promised that he would leave slavery alone where it was already preasent, but the states did not listen so some that were slave states including texas seceded from the U.S.

    this amendment is what abolished slavery for the United States as a whole. now with this amendment in the instituition the states that re entered the U.S. had to abolish slavery in their state.

    the 14th amendment is what gave slaves and anyone born in the United States instant citizenship. even though this was part of the consituition most southerners treated african americans as second class citizens.

    the 15th amendment gives men the right to vote no matter their race. this only says men because back when it was created women were not allowed to vot for anything.
