The amendments/ You Have Rights

  • 1st Amendment

    This is an important amendment to us today because it gives us freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of religion, the right to peacefully assemble and the right to protest against the government.
    This Amendment is important because it gives us freedom to do many things that if we were governed by the British we wouldn't have
  • 2nd Amendment

    This Amendment is Important because it means that you won't be vulnerable against robbers and thieves and you will be able to defend yourself against agressive animals.
  • 4th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because if we didn't have this Amendment the police could just get in our house with out a judge's warrant.
  • 5th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because it gives fair treatment and a fair trial and it doesn't matter if you are innocent or guilty you get treated the same
  • 6th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because it makes sure you get treated fairly in court
  • 7th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because it gives you the right to trial by jury in certain civil cases this means it gives everyone equal rights and justice.
  • 8th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because it makes sure that we won't get unfair and unusual fines, bails and punishment
  • 9th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because they could not predict every situation so this will cover our rights
  • 3rd Amendment

    This Amendment is important because it respects American’s right to privacy to prevent soldiers from entering their private property during peacetime.

    This Amendment is important because it presents the principles of Federalism as the organization of the United States Government. The power to govern is assigned between a central government and the state governments. All powers that are not introduced to in the United States Constitution were delivered to the individual states.

  • 11th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because it asserts that each state has sovereign immunity from being sued in federal court by someone of another state or country.
  • 12th Amendment

    This Amendment is critical because it provides the system by which the President and Vice President are elected.
  • 13th Amendment

    This Amendment is relevant because we don't have any more slavery, unpaid workers, and badly treated workers.
  • 14th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because it gives a broad definition of citizenship by no longer excluding slaves, and their descendants, from having Constitutional rights and was used to demolish racial segregation in the United States.
  • 15th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because it made legal to all male citizens the right to vote.
  • 16th Amendment

    This Amendment gave the federal government the authority to collect income tax and resolved the debate of how income was to be taxed.
  • 17th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because Senators now are chosen by popular vote which means that no more unwanted Senators will be appointed.
  • 18th Amendment

    This Amendment established Prohibition in the United States and has been repealed by the 21st Amendment in 1933.
  • 19th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because women are now allowed to vote
  • 20th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because it establishes the commencement and the finish of the terms of the elected federal officials also dealing with situations in which there is no President elected.
  • 21st Amendment

    This Amendment is important because the 18th Amendment got repealed and now people are allowed to drink alcohol. Bootleggers got extinguished.
    I'm still not sure if that is a good thing. Us, kids, can be annoying some times and our parents kinda need it.

    This Amendment is important because presidents can only be reelected once that means that they can't be a dictator or a monarch
  • 23rd Amendment

    This Amendment is important because it permits the District of Columbia to choose Electors for President and Vice President. Therefore, citizens of Washington DC can vote for the president even though they are not formally part of a state.
  • 24th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because now everybody from the poorest to the richest will be able to vote. There is no more poll tax.
  • 25th Amendment

    This amendment is important because it determines the presidential succession if something happen to the president and establishes that the first in line is the Vice-President.
  • 26th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because instituted the voting age to be 18 in response to student activism against the voting age that had previously been 21 and the Vietnam War.
  • 27th Amendment

    This Amendment is important because it prohibits the implementation of any law that raises or reduces the salary of constituents of the Congress before the next set of terms of office for Congressmen starts.
