  • U.S. Embassy Bombing

    The April 18, 1983 United States embassy bombing was a suicide bombing in Beirut, Lebanon, that killed 63 people, mostly embassy and CIA staff members, several soldiers and one Marine. 17 of the dead were Americans. It was the deadliest attack on a U.S. diplomatic mission up to that time, and is thought of as marking the beginning of anti-U.S. attacks by Islamist groups.

All 155 passengers and 15 crew members died.

  • Peshawar Mosque Attack

    On 20 June 2013, a suicide bomber blew himself up at a Shiite mosque, killing 15 people and injuring over 20. The attack happened in the Shiite area known as Gulshan Colony. Three people were suspected of carrying out the attacks. The perpetrators first gunned down a police officer and a security guard, before the suicide bomber went into the mosque.
