Black Codes
This law was created so it coud help the newly freed African Americans since they have been slaves all of their lives. Another reason is since some African Americans thought it was ok to have their own farms or rent them this law told them they weren't aloud to. -
Civil Rights Act of 1866
In order to combat the Black Codes law, Radical Republicans had pushed the civil rights act all the way throughto congress.This law gave power to the federal government so they could get involoved in state affairs so they could help protect African Americans. Another thing that the Civil rights act did was granted citizen ship to the African Americans. -
Reconstruction Acts (1 and 2)
In 1867 is when the first reconstruction act was givin. When that was givin the 10 defieant states were divided up into 5 military districs. Then the second reconstruction act was givin to empower the army. Alos to help organize the army in this matter. -
14th Amendment
Something about the 14th amendment that made it so powerful was that no state could ever take someones life, liberty,and or their property without the process of the law. Another thing is that it was guarnteed that citizenship could not later be taken away from no one. One last thing is they all have a condition of rejoining the Union. -
15th Amendment
by 1869 the 15th amendment was thought of. Then it was ratified in 1870, when republicans thought that their job was nearly over and done
