The French and Indian War was a conflict between the French and British over the Ohio River Valley. The British eventually won the war, forcing the French to give all of their land west of the Appalachian Mountains.

Thomas Paines "Common Sense" was a speech he gave to the Patriots saying that there is no way a little counrty on the other side of the globe should dictate us. This sparked up the colonists.
