Brittish claimed all of the land East of the Mississippi River. After this the colonists began to settle n the Ohio River valley. -

Colonists had to provide food, houseing, stc. for British soldiers. This was hated but little could be done. -

Tea merchants in colonies were cut tea trade because British East India lowered cost. This resulted in the boston tea party. -
1st continental congress
Following the intolerable acts, the first continental congress met in Philedelphia to ban all trade with Britain until acts were repealed. Eachcolony began training troops. They werent ready for independence. -
Intolerable Acts
Closed Boston Harbor, eliminated current government of Massechusetts, and restricted any other government meetings. -
