    Black codes.
Black codes were laws in the south used to control african americans. The laws took away certain rights from the african americans like for example, the black codes said they were not allow to own a farm. This is an example of how blackcodes limited the rights of the African American race in reconstruction after the civil war. Another thing that the black codes did was allow the officals to arrest any African Americans who did not have jobs. The blackcodes were better then slavery but unfair.

The 15th amendment is familiar to the 14th amendment but it says that the state and federal government cannot allow someone not to vote because of their race, color, or who they served in the past the union or confederates. The 15th amendment was made to proctect African Americans right to vote because it would proctect them from white people who were unfair to them. The republicans after the 15th amendment thought that their job in reconstruction was over.
