Ian's dad is a businessman. He is the CEO of the biggest company in the city and he is always working. Every time Ian thought of his father he got angry because he doesn't spend time with him or the rest of his family. Ian's parents are very rich and think the club is nasty and that Ian shouldn't work there. -
Ms. Watkins Class
Ian has a civics class and the teacher's named is Ms. Watkins. Ian is not doing very well in the class and he has to do his community hours. if Ian doesn't do the community hours he will fail the class and he doesn't want that. Ms.Watkins goes hard on Ian because she wants him to show his full potential. -
Ian Goes to The Club
Ian goes looking for a place to do his community hours and stumbles at the club. The club is a kitchen/shelter for homeless people it helps them a lot to say alive. Ian goes to the club to do his hours and doesn't like it at first but realises that it is good. Ian makes good friends and gets to help people. (he likes helping people) -
Thugs Jump Ian
While walking through the park Ian gets jumped by a couple of homeless thugs. When he gets jumped a person comes out from the dark to help him. He fights the thugs and manages to fight them off. Ian thanks him and is surprised on how good he fights the man who helped him looked homeless too. Ian asks what his name was and he said Sarge. -
Story of Sarge
Ian and Sarge were becoming friends and Ian wants to get to know Sarge more. Ian asks Sarge for a interview for a school assignment and sarge agrees. For Ian's assignment he is going to ask Sarge about his past. Sarge said he was in the military and served in the deadly battle of Rwanda. Ian was stunned Sarge told him that 800,000 people died in that battle. He was a UN (United Nations) soldier. -
Story of Jacob
Jacob was a young boy that was born in Kigali,Rwanda he was a survivor of the Rwanda genocide. He lived with his mother and father and his three brothers and two sisters. In a photo of the boy Ian was looking at he had a white shirt with the sleeve being loose He lost his left arm. He lost all of his family members he had to watch as they got slaughtered. -
Story of Berta
Ian had a housekeeper named Berta, Berta was like a mother to Ian and he loves her. Berta was born in Guatemala and came to America . She Also was a survivor of a civil war in Guatemala her parents were killed. She had to escape Guatemala, luckily her parents arranged a getaway if something happened. She went to Canada first and then America. She helps kids that went through the same thing that she went through. Tens of thousands of people were killed or disappeared during the civil war. -
Sarge Throws bottle at Ian
He said to Ian “you see those shards of glass? It’s not just broken, it’s shattered into a million pieces and it can never be put back together again. Never. And even if you could make it whole again, you’d never be able to recapture what was inside the bottle. It’s gone, forever. That bottle … that’s me … nobody,nothing, can ever put the pieces together again. And even if my life could be put back together again, it would never be the same. What was inside of me, that is gone … gone forever.” -
Ian goes to church
Berta takes Ian to church to meet someone named Eduardo who can help Ian and maybe Sarge. Berta says that Eduardo is a very big hero to her. When Ian saw Eduardo he thought he was just a small old man. But Eduardo was in the shoe making business and was the person that saved Berta. Eduardo told Ian some things that made Ian go back and talk to Sarge again. -
Sarge goes to rehab
It was Ian's birthday him and mac started talking about what was he going to do. he asked if he was getting any presents Ian said a few and Mac said here is another one. He gave Ian a chip and Ian thanked him but it wasn't from him it was from Jack. The chip was a 2 week chip from the treatment centre.
