Clearing the House that Should've been Empty
A group of four soldiers were told to clear a house as they were about to move out of the town they were in. Scott thought he saw someone move, so he went upstairs, set off two grenades, and they all opened fire on the floor below. It turned out that there were two German soldiers hiding in the wall. Consequently, one of the four Americans was killed in the process. -

Clearing Mines
The men Scott was travelling with had to search the road for mines because someone had stepped on one very close behind the mess truck. Tank mines were the easiest to find and not nearly as dangerous as anti-personnel mines. -
Capturing a German
A group of four Americans, including Scott, were instructed to go out and capture a German soldier to bring back to headquarters. The goal was to have Americans interrogate the German and get information out of him to benefit the U.S. plan of attack. -
