Scientific Revolution

  • At The Very Beginning

In the very beginning of the 1500's people were still using old legends and myths as their facts.
  • Late 1500's

Later on science was becoming recognized and instead of using "magic" people used different sciences to gather more accurate information about the world.
  • Long Ago

Different people around the world had beliefs about the world, mainly religion based, they were incapable of getting accurate information because the world had yet to advance.
  • Scientist

Scientists were always bound to make their mark in history with the Scientific Revolution. People that questioned the way things worked helped answer things like why we don't fly off the earth, why things get hot, and why our bodies can feel different temperatures.
  • Nicolas Copernicus

Nicolas was born in 1473 and lived to 1543. In that time he taught people that the world was not the center of the universe, though many believed that. He came up with a theory that Earth circled the sun (therefore not the center).
  • Robert Boyle

In 1662, an English-Irish man named Robert Boyle helped to teach the world today about Chemistry and things like how gas effects air.
  • Galileo Galilei

Galileo was a strong believer in science and changed religious stand points with his research.
  • Andreas Vesalius

Strongly impacted by the studies of Leonardo Da Vinci, Andreas was able to work as one as one of the first few scientists to study anatomy.
  • René Descartes

A philosopher that lived from 1596-1650, Mr. Descartes gave us what we know today as "the basis of our modern Western view of the universe and its physical properties."
  • Francis Bacon and The Scientific Method

Mr. Bacon was a scientist as well as a philosopher. Over time the world followed his construction of the scientific method.
  • 1700's

Late into the 1700's a man researching in the field of chemistry taught us that matter can change, "the law of conservation of matter", one of the most important lessons in chemistry.
  • More About The 1700's

By the 1700's all sorts of sciences were being studied by different people all over the world.
  • Present Day Adances

Today, we have come a long way with our studies and due to the Scientific Revolution we have advanced with things like scientific societies and means of communications.

    Right Around The 1600's

The word science means a lot more today than it did before. It used to only mean "to know", since then the word has been giving a bigger definition with many categories falling under it.

    After The Switch

After people put down the magic wand, people picked up on different methods of science. They started using chemistry, anatomy, physics, and astronomy.
