Life Of Rudolf Carnap
Rudolf Carnap was born in Ronsdorf,Germany. Carnap moved from where he was born to Barmen after his father died. He had studied at the gymnasium while he was there. Once he had gotten into universities he studied philosophy, physics and mathematics. He started to get into physics but then he developed a dissertation "Carnap then chose to write a dissertation under the direction of Bauch on the theory of space from a philosophical point of view." -
Vienna Circle
In 1922 a group of philosophers gathered around Moritz Schlick, these group of philosophers were the Vienna Circle. After Rudolf wrote his dissertation he became involved with the Vienna Circle and it developed over the next few years. Reichenbach was someone Rudolf met at a conference in 1923, he introduce Rudolf to Moritz Schlick. In 1929 he become the leading Member of the circle "He became a leading member of the Vienna Circle and, in 1929, with Hans Hahn and Otto Neurath," -
Great Achivements
Rudolf Carnap was not only just a the leading member of the Vienna Circle but as become a professor at the University of Chicago. Rudolf as wrote multiple books on semantics such as "Introduction to Semantics (1942), Formalization of Logic (1943), and Meaning and Necessity: A Study in Semantics and Modal Logic (1947). In Meaning and Necessity" He is most famous for being a spokesman for the movement for logical empiricism or logical positivism. -
Passing
At the age of 79 Rudolf Carnap passed away in Santa Monica California on September 14 1970.
