Rosa went on a bus to ride home, as the bus was filling up with more and more passengers, the bus driver had asked her to move for the white passengers who didn't have anywhere to sit. She refused and got arrested for stepping up to police officers.

Just after Rosa got released from jail, she decided not to pay the $14 fine to end the issue but then she began a boycott.

The boycott lasted for 1 year and 15 days.

Rosa took place as a receptionist at first, then as staff assistant to Representative John Conyers of Michigan.Spent much of her time recording the problems of the people in Conyers´ district, Many who were black.
