    Montgomery Bus Boycott
    During the 1950s only white people could ride in the front half of the bus.African Americans were only allowed to ride on the back half of the bus. A woman named Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat for a white man. December 5, 1955, 40,000 black bus riders started to boycott bus riding.Black people made up 75% of bus riders in Montgomery. June 5, 1956 the Montgomery federal court ruled any law that racially segregated bus seating is no longer in effect.
