    Rosa Parks was born on the 4th of February 1913 in Tusagee, Albama. She was the first born child of James McCauley and Leona Edwards. Her mother was a teacher and her father a carpenter.

  • Rosa's brother, Sylvester McCauley was born.

    Rosa Parks' brother was born on the 20th August 1915. His name was Sylvester McCauley and he got married to Daisy Elizabeth Gallmon. Sylvester died in 1977 at the age of sixty-two.
  • She enrolls at an all black school

    Rosa enrolled at an all black school on the 23rd August 1924. Before that she was homeschooled by her mother because she was a teacher. Schools in thoses days were segregated so she had to goo to a different school than all the whites and it was against the law to go to the same school as them.
  • Rosa drops out of high school

    On the 12th March 1928 Rosa Parks dropped out of high school. She die this was to care for her sick Grandmother even though she really wanted to finish school. She went to an all black school and was taught by christian whites.
  • Rosa get married to Raymond Parks.

    Rosa McCauley got married to Raymond Parks on the 18th Becember 1932. At this time Rosa was only nineteen years old. Raymond was a barber and also an active volounteer at the NAACP.

    Rosa McCauley graduated from high school on the 1st January 1934. She only finsished high school because of her husbands enouragement and support as he never recieved an education himself.
  • Rosa Parks get a job at the Maxwell Air Force

    On the 28th Fenruary 1944 Rosa Parks joined the Maxwell Air Force. This was a non segregated area and this was the first time Rosa had been treated equally. This is what opened up her eyes and made her not give p her seat on the bus.
  • She is bailed out of jail

    Rosa was arrested on the 1st of December 1955 and was bailed out of jail that evening. Clifford Durr was the person who bailed her out of jail. He was also her boss and he an his wife had become very good friends with Rosa.
  • Rosa is arrested

    Rosa was arrested on the 1st December 1955. She was arrested because she did not follow the Jim Crow Laws. She did not give up her sit to a white person who was standing and had no seat so the bus driver called the police.
  • The bus boycott started

    The bus boycott started on the 6th of December 1955.This was to try and help give African-Americans civil rights. First it was just meant to be a boycott for one day but it went really well so they decided to keep the boycott going until they were given civil rights.
  • Raymond Parks dies

    Raymond Parks died on the 19th February 1977. Raymond was Rosa's husband and he died of cancer after fighting it for five years.At the time when he died he was seventy-two years old.
  • The Rosa parks library and museum open

    The Rosa Parks library and museum opened on the 21st April 1998. The purpose of this museum is to help educate the and entertain the public. It is also good for learning about Rosa and the Montgomery bus boycott.
  • People start filming the Rosa Parks Story

    The Rosa Parks Story was started filming on the 30th april 2001. The Rosa Parks Story is a movie all about Rosa's life. It tells you all about where she grew up, where she went to school and also about civil rights.

    Rosa Parks died on the 24th October 2005 after she was diagnosed with Dementia. Dementia is when someone loses their mind and they forget everything. This was very sad and she eventually died.
  • Rosa's Funeral is held

    Rosa Parks had a great honour at her funeral as her body is lying in honour at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington DC. This is usually reserved for Presidents of the USA. Rosa is the first woman and the second Afican-American to have this honour.
