Nikolia Andreyevich Rimsky Korsakov was born March 18th, 1844. Rimsky was born in Tikhvin located in Russia. His parents names were Andrey Rimsky-Korsakov and Sofya Rimsky-Korsakov. They were a wealthy, noble, aristocratic Russian family. -

Graduating
Nikolai graduated with honors from the Sea Cadet Corps (Naval College) in 1862. Along with that he recieved an education and music lessons from home. -
Round the world trip
Since Rimsky graduated from the navy he had to embark on a round the world trip. Rimsky was on the boat "Almaz", before he left he promised his parents he would compose music on board.The cruise lasted 2 years and 8 months. During this time Rimsky- Korsakov visited Germany, England, The United States of America (where he went on a trip to the Niagara Falls), Brazil, France and Spain.

On October 18th 1872 Rimsky was married to Nadezhda Purgold, who was a pianist. Rimsky was 28 and Nadezda was 24. Together they had 7 children. -

This to is a Russian opera. Sadko is a type of merchant sea going man. When he comes with an idea to the higher officials he is turned down. Sadko is very determined and at the end of the opera Sadko is able to over come his problem.

Rimsky passed away on June 21st, 1908 in Lyubensk, Russia. Rimsky was 64 when he passed. -
