    Also called the 7 year war in Europe, the French Indian war was between the French and Indians vs. Britan and the 13 colonies. The Brittish and the French had a dissagrement over who gets the Ohio River Valley. It was valued for its: rich soil for farming, trading with the Indians, and, just land for growing their country.

    The Treaty of Paris is signed to end the war between France and Britain. As a result the Brittish get the Ohio River Valley. The bad thing though is that for all of the damage and money lost fighting, the brittish started taxing the 13 colonies.

    Due to the damage of the French Indian war the Brittish raise taxes on the 13 colonies. The first ever law was passed on the colonies raising sugar and molasses taxes for revenue. sugar was mainly imported from the West Indies.

    Laws were being broken in the 13 colonies expecialy the townshend act. There were lots of black markets and smuggling going on.Brittish officials sent two regiments of troops to boston.

    There were two regiments who shot and killed/wounded 9 innocent colonists including 1 boy. When it happened somebody from the crowd yelled fire like they were taunting the red coats. Also that the red coats were being haassed. The crowd was throughing ice and clam shells at the red coats, so, they fired.

    The East Indies company was loaded with 17 milion pounds of tea which they were able to sell very cheap. The tea was shipped to boston were they were ordered to be emptied in boston harbor by Thomas Hutchinson or the ships may not return. However boston did not want the tea so Bostonians dressed up like Indians, borded the ships, and dumped nearly 350 chests of tea into boston harbor. - The actual water.

    The intolerable act were laws restricting important town meetings also enforcing officals who killed colonists in the line of duty could now be sent to britian to be on trial. the date is unknown.

    summoned in the response of the intolerable act, a metting was held in Philedalphia to readress colonial grievences. The meeting was attended by 55 distinguished men from 12 of the 13 colonies (georgia did not come). some of the men included were: Samuel adams, John adams, George Washington, and Patrick Henrey.

    The meetings lasted for nearly 7 weeks. The representatives were not clling for independence yet. however they did see to repeal the offensive legislation and go back to the good days before the parliment created taxes. The congress drew up sevral dignified papers, like the declaration of rights to the king and brittish citezens. They also declared a totla boycott to brittish goods.

    Paul revere, william dawes, and samuel prescott wer midnight riders. they were informed that the brittish were coming to concord and lexington and were sent to warn the two towns.
    thry rode horses though the night to concord and lexington. they inforced that "the brittish were coming" and the next day they did. The colonial malitias were waiting for the red coats.

    The Battle of Concord and Battle of Lexington
    The brittish comander in boston sent genral Thomas Gage and his troops to concord and lexingtonton to steal the colonists main supply of gun powder. The malitas were no match against the red coats allthogh 75 Brittish were killed and 175 wounded while only 50 colonists were killed and 40 wounded. Theese battles were the first use of miltary forces.

    The colinists seized bunker hill and menaced the brittish in boston. the brittish launched a frontal attack with over 3,000 men. the colonists shot and killed nearly 1,100 men 1/3 of britains army. Adventualy the colonists ran out of ammo and were forced to retreat! the brittish won the battle technically.

    Thomas jefferson wrote the declaration of independence statin that the colonies should be free and indepentent states. it was written on july 2 but was aproved by congress july 4.- the 4th of july.

    Dates unknown. Many back and forth battles are faught. Some examples are the : Battle of Delaware (Also called the crossing of the Delaware where the brittish and heision troops invaded Long Island) And the Battle of Trenton.

A group of colonial malitia sharpshooters started harassing brittish troops. later more colinists from virginia joined in with the others and charged. There was of kill rate for 1 Colonist-(American) killed 2 Brittish.

    At bemis heights on october 7th genral burgoyne determined to break free from the colonial forces and drive them from the feild with their german allies who nearly lost there entretched positions. genral burgoyne decided to withdaw hi army north to the village of schuylerville and the americans had won. genral burgoyne moved back to england and was no longer commander. The victories of america persuaded the french to join forces with the americans.
