  • French Indian war

    The French fought the British alongside native people to control the Ohio River. the war lasted 9 years and eventually, the Britsh won. this war cost a lot to fund and caused the British to place harsh taxes on the colonists. this would help the British government to get back the money they lost but the colonists revolted.
  • The Stamp Act

    The British government passed a bill that would make the colonists be taxed. Due to the active war at the time between the British and French, the British government had started losing money fast so they taxed to get money back. This was a problem because they didn't have any involvement in the government and their choices.
  • Boston massacre

    the Boston massacre happened because the British were taxing the colonists in high amounts without representation. this pushed some people into poverty and caused outrage, so they protested outside where the king kept his money. The British guard was there to defend the customs house from protesters when in some way the word "fire" was spoken and the British unloaded into the crowd. This event ended with 5 dead and many injured that we know of.
  • Boston tea party

    The Boston Tea Party was a dispute between the colonists and the British. On the night of December 16th, 1773 a group of colonist men snuck onto a British cargo ship. This ship held a large amount of tea which is a delicacy to the English people. these colonists disguised themselves as indigonist people and then dumped all 342 creates of tea into the sea.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The battle of Lexington Concord is the first recorded battle in the Revolutionary War. This battle was fought between the colonists and the British and we don't know who fired the first shot. The colonists are believed to be victorious in this first battle but not without loss, up to 122 people died in this battle total.
  • The declaration of independence

    The Declaration of Independence was the colonists seceding from the English and their governing. They decided that they had enough of their taxing and had no control over choices in said government. so they got a group of colonists to sign a petition and sent it off to the British.
  • The Battle of Yorktown

    The Battle of Yorktown was fought between the colonists and the British. George Washington leads his army into York town Virginia to combat British red coats. This was the final battle and victory for the colonists, this led to the British signing a peace treaty ending the war.
