  • The French and Indian War

    The French and Indian War
Also known as the Seven Years War, was a war fought between Great Britain and New France. From the title, you might think that New France fought the Native Americans, but it was the Native Americans and New France against Great Britain. The British did have a few Indian allies, but only a few, and they were killed during the battle. It went on for seven years. The victories were thrown back and forth, with France winning one battle, then Britain winning one etc. It all ended when Britain won.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
The purpose of the proclamation was to divide the east side of America equaly between Britain and France, but France wanted to fight for their land, so they ended up getting more land than the British. During the war (seven years war) the British expanded up to Canada. They had bases there, but the French soon invaded their property. The British fought them off, but half of their bases were destroyed.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
The sugar act was an act because of molasses. The British would travel to Africa, set traps up (to capture slaves, RUDE MUCH?!?), get the slaves, travel up to the Carribbean and get ingredients to make molasses. Then they would go up to their base and make the slaves make molasses. Before this happened, people made natural molasses from the trees and snow and one gallon would cost 6 pence (about $0.06) but then instead of it going up, it went down to only 3 pence a gallon.
  • Quarter Act

    Quarter Act
The Quarter Act was when British soldiers came in to regular people's houses and tell them that they were going to sleep and crash in their house. They expected the towns people to supply them with food, new clothing, etc. They would make you get out of your room and the British soldiers would crash out in your bed, while you would have to sleep downstairs on the floor with nothing but a small cloth. 1765 is when it got really bad. Sometimes, they would kick you out of your house.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was actually just a big tax. The purpose of this tax, was that people had to pay to make up for the money that the British used when they made camp in northern United States. The British made regular towns people pay even more tax and debt than usually, to help pay off for the money that they used. People ended up paying over $10,000,000 in debt and tax. If they didn;t pay up, there were some conclusions like tarring and feathering.
  • Repeal of Stamp Act

    Repeal of Stamp Act
The repeal of Stamp Act was when people couldn't take it anymore. They were tired of having to pay so much tax for such little things. That resulted in a mini war. People were yelling at British soldiers, setting things on fire, and so on. The British also got angry, and because they were soldiers and had guns, they terroized the land and shot people. So me children didn't even get to 1 or 2 years old, they just died because of the Brits.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
The Boston Masscre. Was it really a massacre? A lot pf people think that it is, but it wasn't too bad. The British were stationed to guard Boston, but people got angry, so they charged. Without the captain commanding them to, after the crowd built up, the BRits shot and fired into the crowd, not aiming for anyone in particular, but just shooting. They ended up killing 3 at first, and injured 6, but then 2 more died because of fatal wounds.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
It was a protest by the sons of liberty (originally British soldiers but then betrayed them and went to the French's side). they went onto the boat that carried a giant supply of tea. they dressed up as American Indians, went onto the ship, and threw all of the tea into the ocean. Soon, the BRitish found out and got angry (because the tea was for them) and this resulted into one sleeve of the Revolutionary war.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
The Battle of Lexington and Concord were some of the first military engagements of the Revolutionary War. The first shots were in Lexington, and the war traveled slowly to Concord. People in Massachusetts (the Patriots) were warned that the British soldiers would move their supplies to a smaller, more crowded area, but the Patriots refused. That is what started the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson. It stated that America was going to be seperated from Great Britain. It was actually finalized on July 2, 1776, but was read aloud on July 4, 1776. One of the main parts is that all men be treated fairly (which isn't entirely true because of all the slaves). It has been called one of the greatest items written in all of America.
