    It was a tax on things that required stamps. Thes things included legal documents, magazines, and newspapers.
  • Townshend Taxes and the Boston Massacre

    Townshend Taxes and the Boston Massacre
    More taxes were imposed on common products, the colonists became outradged and started to revolt. A British soldier was pushd to the ground. The soldiers fired on the colonists and 5 were killed.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party
    A group of colinsts dressed up as natives and threw 1500 pounds of tea into the ocean.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    A ban on town meeting and the closing of the Harbor until all tea dumped into it was paid for, as a punishment for the Boston Tea Party.
  • First Continental Congress

    A group of 55 delegates that came together to discuss their grievances against the British government.
  • Battles Of Lexington And Concord

    The Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first military conflicts between the British army and the American army. The British tried to seize a stash of American weapons. The British army was met by a small amount of American Soldiers. However it ended in a Colonial American victory and started the Revolutionary War.
  • Second Continental congress

    A meeting of Colonial American delegates that created the Continental Army and named George Washington as the Commanding General.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Considered the bloodiest battle of the Revolutionary War. Over 1000 British and around 400 Colonists were killed or wounded befor the British took the hill giving them the victory but at a high cost.

    The first document written that asked for independence from Britain. It was written so that the common person could read it.

    A document that declared that the 13 colonies considered themselves an independent state.

    The second battle was at Bemis Heights. It was a considered a turning point in the Colonists favor during the war
  • Battle at Yorktown

    A decisive battle in which the French Navy blocked off British supplies and reinforcements during the seige of Yorktown.

    A treaty that officially ended the War between Britain and America.
