Freedmen's Bureau wanted plantation owners to redo their plantations. They wanted African Americans to get unemployment. Also, it made whites and blacks come together to work.

General Lee surrendered to Grant Lee. He surrendered at the Appomattox courthouse in Virgina. There were still little wars, but the Civil War was offically over.

Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Both at Ford Theater. He died at 7:22 the following morning. After he died Andrew Jackson became president.

On September 3 Henry Turner spoke out amoung representatives. Turner was one of the twenty-five balck republican representatives. Georgia has expelled all blacks 2 months before the election.

The 15th amendment stopped all states and goverment from using a race or color of a slave as a voting qualification. It was the third reconstruction amendment. It was wrote on Feb.26,1869 but it was not ratified until Feb.2,1870.

Georgia wanted to rejoin their union. At first, the legislature would not seat the blacks. They finally agreed to seat them and Georgia readmitted for good.

HAyes was elected president in 1876.It was the only election wiht canidate running in 20 years. His compition was Samual Tilden.
