    Robert E. Lee realized that there was little choice but to surrendur. Lee met with Grant and agreed on surrenduring the Civil War. The Civil War ended.
  • Abraham Lincoln Assassinated

    Lincoln gave a speech after the war ended. He and his wife attended Ford's Theater where he was shot by John Wilkes Booth. He was shot while watching a play.

    The 13th amendment was about slavery. It ended slavery in all states. The amendment outlawed slavery.

    The 14th Amendment was about peoples' citizenship. It granted citizenship and equal rights to all people that were born in the United States.

    He was a defender of African Amercians. He was a minister too.Also, he was amoung the first group of African Amercians to be elected as an African official.

    The 15th Amendment was about voting rights. It protected voting right of all African Americans. Now all people would be able to vote without the issue of race.

    Georgia went through Reconstruction after the Civil War.The U.S Army provided stability and food rations to parts of the state. The number of soldiers increased greatly.
