Abraham Lincoln Assasinated
Lincoln Was shot While watching a play with his wife.Early the next morning he died. Two other failed at their job to kill the vice president and state secretary. -
End of Civil War (Appotamattox)
Slavery was ended. North and south's anger aginst each other grew.Genral Robert E. Lee Genral appointed John B. Gordon to replace him. -
13th Amendment Ratified
It outlawed slavery.It cancelled the ordinate of secession and war debts.It also wrote a new constitution including a provision abolishing slavery. -
14th Amendment Ratified
It guaranted citizenship to everyone born in the US except Native Americans. President Johnson voted for it, but Congress measured over him. It had to be ratified by the South before they could rejoin the Union. -
Henry McNeal Turner Elected to Senate

Represented Macon, and soon after the election, he received threats from the KKK. He later in 1870 tried to reclaim his legislative seat, but was denied. He died in 1915. -
15th Amendment Ratified
It allowed voting to all citizens, reguardless of race. Georgia, Mississippi, and Texas had to pass it before they were allowed to rejoin the Union. The final vote in the Senate was 39 to 13, with 14 not voting. -
Georgia Readmitted to Union
Georgia was the last to rejoin the Union. It ended the Confederate States of America. Georgia's governor, Joseph E. Brown, became a Republican. Was not allowed to rejoin Union until 14th and 15th Amendment was passed by Georgia. -
