  • Andrew Johnson gets Impeached

    In 1866 the radical republican party wanted to impeach Andrew Johnson for all of the things he had done but it did not pass.

  • The civil rights act in 1866

    African Americans become citizens and now have equal rights

  • Ku Klux Klan

    The Klan which has been made to scare African Americans has been found in Tennessee

  • Andrew Johnson goes on trial for being impeached

    Andrew Johnson has got impeached for all the things he had done in the war but he gets to stay because he won by 1 vote

  • The first black senator gets elected

    His name was Hirman Revels. He got elected to be on the U.S. Senate.

  • The fifteenth amendment gets ratified

    This Amendment gets ratified and it is that all race males can vote.

  • Congress looks at the civil rights act of 1875

    The civil rights act says that African Americans must have civil rights.

  • In 1877 Reconstruction ends

    In 1877 the president took the troops out of the south.
