  • 1st Grade

    1st Grade
    When I was in first grade I was a really shy grade who wasn't a social person when it came to reading to others or the teacher.
  • 3rd Grade

    3rd Grade
    By this time I was offered the opportunity to work with programs like read 180 where I was able to interact with the computers and learning new vocabulary while reading to the computer like i was reading to a person to break out of my shell.
  • 4th Grade

    4th Grade
    When I was in the 4th grade teachers were able to tell that I was not participating in reading aloud or populating with other students because trouble reading.
  • 5th Grade

    5th Grade
    During this time they found out that I was really struggling to the point where they had offered me to have IEP classes for reading and comprehension.
  • 6th Grade

    6th Grade
    During this time I was able to receive the IEP that I needed and found out that I had dyslexia what is a reading disorder where you mix up your letters with numbers and sounds. During this time I was constantly being pulled out of my reading classes to go into an individual class and read one-on-one with teachers and other students who had difficulties.

    7th Grade
    As the time has passed I have moved in to the seventh grade but yet we're still having difficulties to read my comprehension was getting a little better but I wasn't able to fully understand what I was reading. They kept me in the program to see if my progression will grow but during this time all I can remember was being pulled out from classes and yet not seeing any results.

    Once I move to the eighth grade I was partnered up with a really great teacher who helped me understand my dyslexia and how I can improve it by offering me different strategies to help me read and comprehend what I was reading. During that time I was offered to have different accommodations like extra time or audio readings to help me follow along to what I was reading to help me with my comprehension.
  • 10th Grade

    10th Grade
    Once I hit 10th grade I was improving in my reading comprehension and I was only pulled out extra resources class once a week and was allowed to stay in my reading class for the rest of the week with the rest of the students were I was able to read to other students and be a part of a group.
  • 11th Grade

    11th Grade
    Once I was I became a junior in high school I was able to truly read and comprehend everything I was reading and was pulled out of the program. During this time I was allowed to stay in class and participate in all activities with other students and my dyslexia had slowly been decreased.
  • 12th Grade

    12th Grade
    I have graduated with the understanding reading and comprehension my dyslexia was not able to be as parent as it first was and I had no trouble reading anymore. I was able to enjoy reading and was able to be a part of the meeting the world by this time I was fluently able to understand and comprehend and passed on my reading proficiency exams.
