    Hussein invades Kuwait
    The president of Egypt wanted to prevent U.S intervention if possible. 14 of out the 21 Arab states went against Hussien, which leads to the U.S being asked for help. This caused the United Nations to ask Iraq to withdraw from Kuwait.

    Saudie Arabia and Egypt asked the U.S for help. and Huessein refuses to obey U.S orders.

    This operation was to prevent possible attack on Saudi Arabia. At this time Irag has 300,000 troops in Kuwait and Hussein declares Jihad, meaning Holy war. The United Nations gives them to January 15th to withdraw.

    Huessein gives a speech going against Kuwait. He accuses them of taking crude oil, wants their foreign debt to be resovled, wants to keep oil prices low, and even states that Kuwait isnt a real country.

    This was 42 days of attack, and On feburary 28th they ceased fire.
    A treaty was created that made Irag recognize Kuwait as a real country, and got rid of all UMD (Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical)

    U.S starts to establish United Nation operations in Somalia. This was used to help get supplies where they needed to go. U.S airlifted supplies through congested areas and looters.

    In Somalia Warlords were running the country and were fighting for food. Somalia was experiencing famine and U.S troops were there to help. Humitarian groups made camps for refugees so they wouldn't starve, however they didn't get to the spots that needed it the most.

    This operation tried to avoid using any military in the humanitarin efforts.
  • Operation restore hope continued

    Operation restore hope continued
    U.S Marine and Navy seals came to Mogadishu to try to secure the area of the biggest Warlord issue. The UN starts to move in on the country side. By April they want the mission to not include any military. Restore hope eventually is a success.
  • Aidid's reaction

    By this time Aidid gets angry and starts to attack soldiers. 24 pakistan soldiers were killed and 44 wounded. A month later the U.S attacks Aidid's compound by helicopter. Aidi response to this was killing 4 journalist and putting it on display.

    After 9/11 George W. Bush gave Afganistan leaders two options. They could give over who was in charge or all share the blame. They refused to do either leading to air strikes about a month later.

    American, British, and other trops all fought together to go against the taliban. Talibans forces left the capital city and headed for the border of Afganistan and Pakistan. When the new government was made they attack it along with americans soldiers.

    President Obama deployed an additional 30,00 troops to try to break up the Taliban.
