Po is Adopted by His Father: Trust vs. Mistrust
After the death of his mother and the presumed death of his father, Po was adopted by his new father Mr. Ping. Mr. Ping quickly established himself as Po's new, trustworthy caregiver. As explained in Erikson's first event, the two bonded very quickly. -
Po Begins Studying Kung Fu: Industry vs. Inferiority
After being named the Dragon Warrior, the restaurant worker Po moved into the Jade Palace to study Kung Fu with Master Shifu. While initially not accepted, he was challenged to learn the techniques of Kung Fu and study to be the warrior he was destined to be. It was not completely new, but part of the culture he had to learn in order to be accepted. -
Po Becomes the True Dragon Warrior: Identity vs. Identity Confusion
After defeating Kai in the Spirit Realm and mastering chi, Po becomes the great teacher he was destined to be as the Dragon Warrior. He taught mastery of chi to all citizens of the Valley of Peace including his own teacher, Master Shifu. Through this, he was able to establish a secure sense of identity.
