Phenakitstoscope
Invented by Dr. Joseph Plateau and Dr. Simon Rittrer. It has two seperate discs that rotate in opposite directions. The second disc (which is behind the first), displays small images and when the two discs rotate at the right speed, they make moving pictures. -

First Animation Film
The first animation film was called "Humorous Phases of Funny Faces" and was produced by J. Stuart Blackton. It consisted of comical faces that were drawn on a blackboard and recorded and put together to make an animation. -

Toy Story was produced by Walt Disney Pictures and was the first full-length 3D CG feature film.
