He was nervous because he wanted so badly to be accepted which to me is somewhat heartbreaking. Thinking that in his mind, his worth was determined from this. -

But he was neutral about it because he expressed how he saw it as one of Canada's duties and they couldn't stand by and do nothing about it. He didn't necessarily see war as a good thing but he donated $50,000 to fund war resources and in his words, called it a privilege to donate to fund the war. Which is the reason this is at -2 because the mindset of having the ¨Privilege¨ to be in, and donate to the war is not a good mindset.
