He liked big families, his favorite horse was named General and he was buried near him. Tyler owned about 40 slaves on his plantation. he believed in slavery. (I just did the year that he retired to his plantation back to his slaves.) -
Programs or Laws developed
He didn't develop any laws nor programs but he did do a lot in presidency. He worked for the Annexation of Texas to join the United States because it was having problems with Mexico. Helped protect Northern Manufactures. Helped end Border dispute with Canadian Colonies. He also signed for the Log Cabin Bill where settlers can claim land before being sold and it was $1.25 per acre. -

Events after Presidency
The war of 1860 was looming and in 1861 he was supposed to go to a peace convention at house of representatives with Abe Lincoln but he had a stroke and died and northern people called him a traitor for not going to the meeting. -
Death
Tyler had a stroke and died at 71 and was buried at the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond Virginia.
