  • Civil War

    Civil War
    During the Civil War African-American soldiers were given lower duties than white soldiers. African-Americans were payed $7 a month while whites were payed $13. (Library of Congress pg 1) This was due to the high amount of prejudice that was in the country at this time.

    Plessy vs. Ferguson makes everything "seperate but equal" This meant that the blacks and whites could be seperated in many pulbic places. (Wormser pg 1)

    Removed segregation in schools causing rise in prejudice at this time (Brunner and Haney pg 1)
