King acrisius goes to delphi
king acrisius wants to have a son, he went the delphi for advice to see if he was going to be able to have one. The delphi tells him that he wont have a son but he will have a grandson that will kill him. -
king locks up his own daughter
King acrisius locks Danae his daughter in a bronze box under ground for iternity, which makes it so that she cannot have a child. this was the only way he thought he could stop her from having a child other than killing her, because you cannot kill your own family -
zeus comes along
Zeus gets Denae pregnant without her consent (rape) -
king lashes out
Although the king didnt believe how this happened, Danae had a child named perseus. Now that the king knows this and he cannot kill either of them he decides to lock them ina chest and throw them into the sea. (Danae comforts her son like any mother would do) -
Dictys finds Danae and Perseus
Dictys discovers them and takes them in with kindness, and helps them out. -
polydectes
Polydectes is the brother of Dictys, and also the ruthless ruler of the island. He falls in "love" with Danae but he also doenst want perseus in the picture. -
polydectes plan
Polydectes plans to make perseus go slay the gorgons which would set him up for death. Perseus feels guilty for not bringing a present so he wanted to make it up to them and go kill Medusa and bring back her head for a present. medusa is gorgon and they "cannot be defeated" -
Perseus start of the journy
He goes to the Delphi and also the oak trees for help in finding where the gorgons were to be found but all the information he got was that he was being protected/guiding by Hermes and Athena. -
Hermes and Athena
Hermes helps perseus by telling him how to get the ultimate sword that will never bend or break. to get this he has to go to the gray women and wait until they take the eye out of there forhead so they cant see and make them tell him where the Nymphs is and there he would get the sword. Athena helped him by giving him the bronze shield to look into when going into battle as a mirror so that he didnt look into her eyes and be turned to stone.
