Feyerabend was born in Vienna into a middle class family. He was the son of a civil servant and a seamstress.

In march, after he passed his high school exams he was drafted into the arbeitsdienst (work service introduced by the Nazi's) and he was sent for basic training. He considered joining the SS for aesthetic reasond.

Feyerabend learned of his mothers suicide in July. The following December his unit was sent to battle in Northern Russia. They blew of lots of buildings but had never came across any soldiers.

He advanced from private soldier to lance corporal to sergeant then to lieutenant all in one year.

He soon recovered from paralysis due to being shot in the spine. He had received a fellowship to return to study singing and stage management for a year at the Musikhockschule in Weimar.

He returned to Vienna to study history and sociology at university. Then soon he switched to physics.

He wrote his first book called "Against method" setting "epistemological anarchism". His main thesis was that there was no such thing as "the scientific method".

He wrote a second edition of Against Method involving a long chapter of visual arts.

He wrote his third edition of against method, while the same year he developed an inoperable brain tumor and was hospitalized.

Feyerabend died in Genolier Clinic due to the brain tumor.
