Meeting Eduard Keller
Paul meets Keller and finds him to very weird and does not really like him. Keller looks like an alchoholic but he is wearing a white suit showing that there is something deeper than just an alchoholic that is good at piano, a good inside him. -
Megan
Paul dreams about a girl called Megan and he tells her that he dreamt about her. This is the stage that Paul is becoming a man and his fantasy begins. -
The Bike Shed
A boy aproaches Paul for coming up to Megan and Paul makes a smart comment towards him and gets beaten up. He gains respect for his Dad becuase he was in a fight and in his father's eyes is becoming a man. -
Rosie
Paul meets Rosie because he does not like to hang around the other kids at school so he just hangs out in the music room and Rosie comes and watches him play. He does not really like her at first but she grows on him. Paul no longer just considers people looks but he is fin ding a deeper love for Rosie, shaping his life. -
Keller's Book
Paul recieves a book from Keller which is a first editon and very valuable and also Paul learns that Keller learnt from one of the best pianists of all time. this sparks Paul's interest in Keller and he realises that keller is a very special person not just some alchoholic. -
The Band
The other boys from Paul's school come into the musci room and want to play their instruments because they are forming a band, Paul shows them how to play their instruments and puits them in tune. So they asked Paul to be in their band. Paul is finally accepted by the other boys and now considers them to be his friends. Changing his view on the people around him. -
Intermezzo
Paul goes to Adelaide on holiday and his interest in Keller has increased, he searches throught the library and discovers a book which says that Keller is bead and realises what happened to his family. He also realises that Keller is the way he is becuase he has been through a lot in his life. -
Band Competition
Paul and his band enter a competition and they win, Paul realises how different he actually is from all of the opther people in the band and also that he is far more advance than the members of the band. He does not really belong in the band and feels that he is too good for them. -
Megan and Rosie
Paul and Megan have sex on the beach, but it is tnot the same as he imagined in his dreams. Paul feels guilty and then goes back to Rosie this is the start of the very long and passionate relationship between them. -
School finished
Paul graduates from school and him and his friends split up and they all go their separate ways. Rosie and Paul are still together but this begins Pauls never ending search fro perfection. He travels around from competition to competition all around the world, he still keeps in contact with Keller but not as much as before. -
Vienna
Paul goes to Vienna and tries to find some more information about Keller. He talks to one man who is positive that5 Keller is dead becaquse he knew Keller very well. This is whenm Paul realises how different other peoples ideas of Keller used to be, also he finds out that Keller played for Hitler. Fills paul's mind with questions about Keller's past. -
Keller's death
Keller is in hospital and is dying, Paul visits him but keller is too weak to talk to him much. Paul visits Keller every day for 6 days but does not get any information out of him. Keller dies and paul is trying to tell the world that Keller is dead but no one will listen but no one really cares because they dont know who he is.
