In 1996, Nokia introduced the first QWERTY cell phone. The Nokia Communicator 9000 was released in 1996. Other then having a keyboard, the Communicator 9000 also introduced many business-related features such as email, web browsing, fax, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Also in 1999, Samsung came in with another groundbreaking feature. The Samsung SPH-M100 Uproar, it was the first phone to have the combined features of both a cellphone, and a MP3 player. Therefore providing the user access to listen to music.

Years later in 2007, the very well known brand Apple, introduced the very first Iphone, the Iphone 2G. Once it was introduced, it blew everyone away due to the removal of most physical hardware buttons in favor of a touch-based interface.

Years after many small new features, in 2017 Apple launched the Iphone 7 plus. Which featured a dual-lens system, had no headphone jack, and was the first officially waterproof iPhone.

In 2017, Apple hit another milestone with the Iphone X. They released the higher-end iPhone X, a smartphone that replaced the fingerprint sensor (Touch ID) with face unlock functionality (Face ID).
