Chomsky worked at several universities researching and developing theories about how we learn grammar and languages. One of his most groundbreaking theories was of the LAD (language acquisition device), the theory that humans have an innate ability to understand and learn language structure. He equated it to how fish swim and humans talk, suggesting that we are inborn with this ability. He would noted at how quickly children can form sentences without guidance, through mere observation. -

Chomsky has been a staunch critic of the US government for most of his career. Considered one of the world's top loving intellectuals, he was not surprised at the quick collapse of the democratic Afghan government. He states that the biggest failure was the inaccuracies of the intelligence and the ignorance of similar incidents such as Vietnam.
