    Also known as the official start of WW2, this is when Germany tests all that they really can get away with. The Germans encircled Warsaw, and bombed it until Poland finally surrendered. This lead to the start of WWII, due to Poland's alliance with France and Britain.

    The invasion of Italy occured during the early stages of Italy's WWII campaigning. The allies invaded Italy this early because of how it was considered as the "weaker spot" of the axis powers. Taking control of Italy also allowed freer Allied movement in the Mediterranean sea.

    The Allies Storm the beaches of Normandy in attempt to regain France and also to Hinder Germany's war efforts. Although the Allies did not get anything done on the first day, their victory reared near. The German Atlantic wall was only partly-finished, leaving many gaps in the German defense.

    This was the last major German offensive effort. This was a surprise attack on the German's part, which took many allied lives. The americans withstood the most casualties, followed by the germans. The germans, however, couldn't replace some of the lost troops anad vehicles.

    American-Led invasion on the Japanese-Controlled island of Iwo Jima. The main reason why america wanted to capture this island was because it was a port and air strip for japan. Controlling this island will significantly hinder japan's ability to attack the US.

    The Battle of Okinawa was the largest amphibious battle in the pacific war. It was also the last major battle before Japan surrenders. The Americans invaded Okinawa as a part of their original plan to invade the Japanese homeland. Of course, this homeland invasion never got past the battle of Okinawa, because of the american's decision to drop Atom Bombs on Japan.
